We arrived in Tampa last night around 8 pm. All three of us were so fatigued by the time we got home that are barely got a few things done before we hit the sack.
I'm still proud to say that I fully unpacked yesterday emptying out all five suitcases before I showered and slept. I put away 40% of the things last night and organized the rest into piles to be sorted out in the morning. I put all the dirty clothes in the washer to be done in the morning.
This morning I woke up around 5 am and immediately set off to tackle what I didn't have the strength to do last night.
I managed to do one load of laundry, fully unpack and put away contents in five suitcases, serve breakfast, vacuum the floors, mop the floors, clean the bathrooms, wipe all the counters and do yard work.
I need to go grocery shopping tonight so I can finally start cooking for myself again. I haven't cooked in 2.5 weeks and I'm itching to do so.
I asked the boys what they wanted me to make first.
Boyfriend replied, "Thai Chicken Curry."
Brother replied, "MEXICAN FOOD."
I'm hoping all of us put up a great fight against jet lag and aim to sleep at 9 pm tonight. Taiwan is 13 hours ahead so our days and nights are literally flip-flopped.
Here are some quick snapshots I took with my phone on en route from Taipei to Tampa.
Our plane from Tokyo to Washington DC.
Exploring Narita International Airport (Tokyo)
Checking out the gift shop in Tokyo during our 3.5 hour layover
My plan is immediately getting back to my routine.
Second order of business is to build up to where I was pre-vacation when it comes to exercise.
My boyfriend bit the bullet this morning and weighed himself. I chickened out and I'm going to in a few days after my body settles down.
I feel slightly flabby but my clothes still fit so I know I didn't go overboard during vacation. Thailand wasn't challenging since the food wasn't the greatest since it was included in our group fare (I just had to be careful with the breakfast buffet in the hotels in the morning).
Taiwan was the challenge but we ate our biggest meal in the afternoon and did plenty of walking throughout the day. I went hiking one afternoon with my dad which just reminded me how out-of-shape I was.
Whatever the case, vacation is done and it's time to refocus and get serious.
With the weather we're having in Tampa, swimsuit season is literally right now and not months away :)
I look forward to blogging about our Taipei trip as well as staying accountable about what I'm doing currently!

I've been following much of your vacation and it looked INCREDIBLE! I hope you get back into the swing of things quickly, and I can't wait to see you new recipes.
Welcome back!! So let me know what you decided to make for your first meal back. Or if you made both. LOL. Sounds like you got active right away with all the cleaning!!
You may be out of routine, but you are SO not out of shape! You'll get back on it pretty quick. I'm getting there now. We got this! And yes, please tell what you just had to have as your first meal back!
P.S. Glad you made it back safe and had such a great trip! :D
Welcome back!! It has been HOT here while you were gone and doesn't look like it's going to cool down for a bit. Your body will bounce back quickly, eating clean and drinking an obscene amount of water to flush everything out usually helps me most after a binge. ;-)
Haha, I love that they asked for curry and mexican food. Those are always the first two requests out of my boyfriend. He'd be happy with curries, mexican, pastas, and pizza the rest of his life.
I don't think you are out of shape. Hiking is a specific type of exercise and you just aren't accustomed to it. Hiking on hilly terrain for an extended period of time is totally different than jogging, pilates, or an elliptical. During the summer my body is happy hiking for five hours, but if I tried running on a treadmill my heart would be exploding after five minutes. :) Our bodies just get used to the activities we normally do.
Good luck grocery shopping. I love grocery shopping after a trip. It's a great way to get back into normal routines.
